Dwellsy Surveys US Renters, Majority Are Aware of The Election and Planning to Vote

Overview

Most respondents are aware of the upcoming midterm elections, with 3 in 4 respondents planning on voting. The majority of respondents who plan on voting will support the Democratic party during the upcoming elections.

Respondents had mixed opinions regarding their predictions for the outcome of the elections, but 88% of respondents believe it will have some impact on their lives, whether good or bad. Despite this, respondents are less likely to believe the election will impact their decision to continue renting or pursue homeownership. Regardless of their home status and opinions on the election, 80% of respondents do not believe politicians will pass laws that positively impact renters.

How do you feel about the potential outcome of the upcoming midterm elections?

31% of respondents were Slightly Worried while 30% of respondents were Slightly Optimistic about elections.

This created the most division. 31% of respondents were Slightly Worried while 30% of respondents were Slightly Optimistic about the outcomes of the upcoming midterm elections. Respondents listed as Worried (20%) slightly outweighed responses listed as Optimistic (18%). Overall, there are no strong feelings regarding the outcome of the upcoming election.

Only 12.5% of respondents believed the election results will not impact their lives

Despite inconclusive predictions regarding the outcome of the midterms, 87.5% of respondents believe the results of the election will have some type of impact on their lives. Among the percent of total respondents that believe the election will impact their lives, 65% believe the results will strongly impact their lives. Only 12.5% of respondents believed the election results will not impact their lives.

Surprisingly, 53% of respondents do believe the midterm elections will impact their decision to stay a renter or pursue home ownership.

Interestingly, 45% of respondents plan on supporting the Democratic Party during the upcoming midterm elections. Surprisingly, the next highest percentage are people that are listed as “Other”.
